Despite the original owner covering the hardwood kitchen floor, the finish on it was chipping off every time we walked on the floor. I used a Dremel multi-tool, palm sander and commercial floor sander to strip the oak floor. I then cleaned it with mineral spirits and applied a coat of light oak stain. Then I put four coats of oil based poly, sanding with 220 grit screen between coats. Here's the results. ![]() R.P.Muise 1994 Breakaway/Cummins 5.9/Allison transmission/Spartan Chassis

Very nice. I need to do the same to mine one of these days. Doesn't look awful...but it sure doesn't look beautiful like yours! Vince & Michelle 1993 Front entry Breakaway 30.5 Cummings 5.9 190 HP with Banks upgrade to 210 HP, Allison 4 speed Spartan Chassis

Thanks!, It was pretty easy to do. I loved the rented sander from Home Depot. It made easy work of the floor which still looks great thanks to the oil based poly! R.P.Muise 1994 Breakaway/Cummins 5.9/Allison transmission/Spartan Chassis
