Our breakaway had a non-functioning cruise made by Rosta. Anyway after numerous attempts to repair, finally just bought a new cheap unit by Audio Vox. This unit will operate off of VSS signal from the transmission TCM or off of a drive shaft magnet. I ended up using the drive shaft magnet pickup.

Also this is a vacumm operated unit but I had replaced the vacumm generator trying to repair the old one. In addition all the electronis are in the vacumn motor housing.

Even though the unit came with dash mounted controls I used the turn signal mounted control that was installed by barth.

After months of screwing around installtion was quick and simple and it works great.

Cost of these units is less than $100.
