yup... last one... that is the solution -- extra alternator turned by the Ford diesel in the EarthRoamer.

There is a little Onan Microlite 2800 under my Class B. I was able to make the noise of it less harsh by clamping on a Cummins accessory resonator. It served to suppress the particularly raucous pop pop pop pop pop. Even if the measured decibels might still be the same, the most annoying component of the exhaust sound is suppressed.
