Hmmmmm..........the term high frequency would indicate alternating current. Battery charging requires direct current.

Yeah, could be. Some charging circuits use the battery as a capacitor. But with all the delicate solid state stuff on vehicles today, I would wanna check it out.

Stretching a little..............Depending on the frequency, the AC component could aid in desulfation, as well.
