Mine is a little crackily, but works. However, the hours of tail light research I did on this site this week to no avail makes me feel like I should strike while the iron's hot (and I have a little money). By the time mine gives out (the light or the money), they could be obsolete!

ACK! I already ordered. head bang

However, there is no 1000-12P on the page, or anything with "PRSN" in the description. For the next schmoe, which one did you mean?

This is one easy do it yourself one if anyone wants to try. I know Billy-t bought one on the auction at Milford last year. I thought Sloop or maybe it was Doorman bought the other one. I made 4 because it was cheaper to buy a 48 piece and make 4 than to order one. Cut to length polished the ends and then heated in the oven. When hot it is a fairly easy bend. I kept one as a spare (Ask Ed[MWRENCH] when a new one might be needed) Sorry . and sold the others on the Barth Auction. I researched bending acrylic rod on the net!

Yes Dana I need a handle. Been looking but did not do anything yet.

By the way here is the link to the fuel shut off solenoids.

Whoops the link has been shut off, just google fuel shut off solenoid on Ebay and then you will see the selection. I used the model for the Cummins '94 engine.

The Fleming site Rusty has listed is OEM and the best prices I've seen. I actually ordered the gaskets. You know how tight I am that is why I made my own handle because the brackets were good. I had fun and because it had been replaced with a piece of stainless tubing. I bent and rebent trying to find find the magic curves. All 4 I made would work and looked good. Put in a blue led. (House of Blue Lights by Asleep at the Wheel!) Looks sexy!

Dana I just picked up a piece of 1 inch acrylic plastic solid rod. I will do like you did, roll my own. haven't figured out yet what the right shape is as mine was ripped off and in lots of pieces. Not sure if i will get this done before I leave for Texas or not. My brackets are fine also.

I will also replace the light with LED like you did.

This in not the solenoid. The correct one that fit mine is search 3919422 and has a 2.5" bolt spacing. This one has a side mount. Richard got one that has the 3" spacing and won't work. I also had ordered one that said it would work and had 3' spacing. So don't feel bad Richard.

3919422 Fuel Solenoid 5.9 Cummins. That is what fit mine.

I bet Kevin could throw a link to the original Thread where Ed told about changing his out.

You the man. I knew about the 1st one. The others are all frosting on the cake. Foam on your craft beer. Spice as to life. So I won the bet. You did and could link them up!!

Looks like maybe the 8.3 takes the same fuel solenoid. On Midnight it is easier to see. I pressure washed the engine today seeing. Tomorrow I'll put my cheaters on and see what things look like. confusion

This is what the solenoid looks like on my 8.3 (circa 1995)

solenoid #3936026. bracket #3965494

3" bolt spacing, 3 wire flat plug. I think the 5.9 may have the 2 1/2" bolt spacing version.
