For the next people who do this, I have the Honda bottom plate and will be happy to send a pattern to any supporting member. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

Just thought I would post an update on the Honda Generator. I think I have 45 to 50 hours on this unit with out even a hick-up. Starts every time first time and powers every load on the RV I can throw at it. It has a "whine" that can be a little annoying but I am very happy with this up-grade. Now the problem, the main reason I installed this unit was so I can run both A/C units while on the road to keep this tin can cool in the 95+ heat. While it did run both A/C they were still not able to keep the cab cool. I even mounted the A/C units in the two front holes so I can keep the center door closed but still hot in the cab. They will cool the Barth fine when sitting but apparently cant keep up with when it is moving, Very frustrating.

That whine is the odd "pancake" motor on the cooling fan. On my unit, purchased used, I had to replace it because the original was unbearable - about $150. The Honda RV GenSets, like most-everything Honda makes was an awesome piece. The problem now is, like our Barth's, they are no longer manufactured. Fortunately, parts are still available! Regarding L.P. GenSets, I advise Rv'ers that unless you intend to use it very sparingly, stay as far away from it as you can. They are too expensive to operate, $3 to $4 an hour expensive. They run very clean and last a very long time however, so don't be afraid of valve issues. If it can run on unleaded gas, it will be fine with LPG. Referring to the Onan Quiet Diesel

I agree with the efficiency; the Kohler LPG used about .7 gal/hr at about ½ load. My Honda EV-4010 uses about .35 gal/hr of gaso at the same level.
