Dustyjeeper, is your toad going to get a silver stripe to match the Barth or is the Barth getting a red stripe?

Dont know yet. Thinking about polishing the ribbed section and panting the rest black with some old school flames. I'm working on locations for the spare tire, generator, and propane tank.

Steve VWOnce again, I see it's all been done before!
Honest, I never saw that post before, but I'll bet I read that Popular Science in 1978....
(But did they put a BARTH on floats? With my paint job I'd be the envy of all the boats on the Clinch river!)
DJ you gotta have flames on that "hod rod mini"
(How's the old song go... chopped and channeled, stroked and bored?)

Removed 2" lift blocks.
Sits a couple of inches lower.
Added new air bags.
She still 3-1/2" higher in back.
Body cladding is 16" off ground on Cabin Fever.
It is 8" off ground on Command Center.

The floor is spongy feeling, so I'm replacing all of it. The screws holding down the plywood will not come out. OI tried grinding them out but had too much smoke from the wood. I've switched to using a hole saw around the screws and a saw-zaw along the edges. Wood comes out without all the smoke.
More mouse and water damage.
Notice the gap around the filler neck.
All openings will be fixed to stop the mice.

I guess cabin fever is for off-roading.

The chassis fuse block was right at the floor behind the steering column. I'll be moving it higher to make easier access.
I'll be mounting gauges higher so I can see them.
The heater has been removed to get leg room for passenger. The ac also removed, neither was working.

RichieCI'm looking forward to what you'll do with the dashboard/instrumentation. There's got to be a better place to put the radio.

ReadoWhile attending an RV Show, I saw a rig where the entire back wall folded down into a Patio like area. That would be....umm....interesting!

DoormanBack in the mid 60's there was a camper built on a Ford pickup chassie that had a fold down rear porch and sliding door. If memory serves me it was an Open Road. Always thought it was a neat set up.
