Also , ran across this doing reserch for mine last night the 96 and up vortec 4.3 starters are the same P/N as the ones for the later model 454s ..got an almost brand new one from the junkyard today ..available at any auto parts store and doesnt need to be special ordered if you get stranded somewhere on the road.
