They sold out to Safari in 96 and later to Monaco and now Navistar. This was a luxury home in its days ($200,000 new in 84) and has all options incl music horns, instant hot water, electric baseboard heaters, propane furnace. It has been refurbished inside a couple years ago, flat screen TV with DVD, new furniture, floor, microwave convection oven etc. Also new tires and an oil spinner cleaner. Also got a Onan LP genset. 98,000 miles, running good turbo CAT motor ( pusher) even it got a grill in front. Only problem was the fuel solenoid that gave up on us after the first 500 miles. Got it fixed and she purrs like a kitten. Well she smokes like a tomcat first, but cranks right up even on a cold morning in the twenties. Very nice stay at Fort Clinch State Park in Fernandina Beach FL. I recommend this park, very very nice. Found out a built in trash can in the countertop is just what I needed (very handy) and the giant rooftop storage box is NOT necessary (unless you are a monkey). Marvin, my dad (82) and I and Snoopy dog had a great time, visited all friends and relatives, enjoyed our camping trip. Found out winterizing is easy, just bypass and empty the hot water tank, then pump 3 Gal of antifreeze directly from the bottle into the system under the sink. Simple. O yeah, drain the fresh water too. N. On the other side just staying south could have worked too 1999 Bluebird Custom 33' 8.3 Cummins diesel pusher Former owner 1989 Barth Regal 25' |

We drove over there one day to see the sights and take an boat ride around Cumberland, Is. and checked out Fort Clinch State Park while we were there. Did you stay on the river side or the ocean side? The river side seemed to have more shade but the ocean side much closer to the water. Did you go out on the 1/2 mile long pier and do some fishing? We were told it's the second longest pier on the eastern seaboard. We didn't take the Barth this trip. A lot of people to visit and a short time line, so we drove the Grand Marquis. Got 26mpg. Jim

Just off the riversside beach but you can follow it all around to the oceanside and the fort. We rode bicycles (ypu can rent one) around and walked the pier. That thing is sure looong. I think the woods are looking like a fairyland. Btw we went there in our Barth a couple years ago and posted some pics. We have relatives in Folkston GA just a short drive from St. MARYS. The world sure is small The bathhouses in Fort Clinch SP are nice and modern, handicap accessible, washer, dryer available. We love it there, convinient and something for everyone. Kayak, fish, bike, walk, relax and watch the sunset on the riverside. 1999 Bluebird Custom 33' 8.3 Cummins diesel pusher Former owner 1989 Barth Regal 25' |
