As I said in my post about the GTG, remember '72? Only this time, in addition to supplies being short due to back to back hurricanes, we have this wonderful price gouging. It is mind boggling that for the last 60 years, since we (at least the leaders in Washington) became aware of how important it is to keep our oil supply lines from the middle east open, that instead of adopting a combined energy/foreign policy plan that would make us independent of foreign oil, we have spent all our money and the lives of many good men and women, to be nice to people who really don't like us, i.e., all of the Arab countries, the Russians, the Venezuelans, and who knows who else. And on top of it all, what limited refining capacity we have (make that how to control the 'supply' side of the 'supply and demand' equation), is mostly located in an area that is in constant danger of disruption from adverse weather. Is it just me or is there a incredible lack of leadership in our government? You can't tell me that guys like Bill Gates, and Warren Buffet, and Boone Pickens couldn't have done a better job that the leaders we've had for the last 60 years.
OK, I'll stop. My back is sore, just thinking about it. Think I'll put a sail on the Barth.

Yup! Wanna help move it forward? Look at Boone Pickens' web site and you can find people in your area who are coming together to help consider and develop alternate energy sources, individually, regionally, nationally. Solar and wind are the obvious ones.
How about a hybrid Barth conversion? Electic/diesel?
