I hate to sound so ignorant, but what is a SOB? Sweet Old Barth? Son Of Barth?

I think in most instances SOB is used to mean "something other than Barth" refering I 'spose to the other makes of motorhomes of usually inferior quality. Bob and Jan Orr Canadian Barth owners 94 30ft. Breakaway/3116 Cat/ Allison 5 speed/ Gillig

It's another Barthism, SOB: Some Other Brand NOUN: duality - being twofold; a classification into two opposed parts or subclasses; "the dichotomy between a Barth and a SOB" The vernacular SOB really is a nice way of dissing another motorhome with a play on words. The duality in meaning really makes most SOB a class unto itself. Example: A Barth and a Newell are luxury coaches. A Winnie is a Bill N.Y.

Thanks, Bill -- a most enlightening exegesis of a Barthism. I think it would be too extensive to list all the POS coaches out there, but perhaps there could be a shorter list of all the coaches that are considered "luxury", undervalued, and collectible. I will most likely wait until an appropriate Barth comes along, but I would like to know other coaches might not end up being a PIA because of bad design and manufacture.

Well that's appropriate! PIA and POS: The I is next to the O and the A is next to the S on the keyboards. I thought you just missed the keys. Bill N.Y.
