I was thinking (which is much more frequent than "doing") that while the Wales, MA GTG in August is a bit far (~1140 miles) for me, as well as the other FL Barthers, but a mid-Atlantic (VA-NC-SC-GA) would possibly be doable for those in the Sunny South as well as those in the Great White North. Comments?

Rusty,
Pick the date and time, anywhere in the southeast and we will be there.

Great! Hopefully, some of the Barthers from the Top of the World will chime in with acquiescence...I'm thinking Fall '08 would be a good time (although I do have a few Star Parties to attend in the autumn).

I would be very interested in a get together in the area that was mentioned.

We are supposed to be in KY in October. We would attempt to make the trip on over to somewhere is dates work out. After that we would probably head back to AZ to hole up for the winter.

How about the Nashville, TN or Asheville, NC areas sometime late September. Still pretty weather, maybe some foliage, pretty central area for a lot of us.

Either place would be fine by me; I have the Peach State Star Gaze (where I met Nick last year) for which I leave Friday 9/26.

Count me in also. I live in weestern NC about 45 miles from the Great Smkey Mtn. National Park and about 110 from Ashville andabout 45 miles from Cherokee. Remember now, during the leaf season especially in October reservations are a must. If I may be of any assistance in helping to put this together, I will.
I am in the Barth now at Fort Wilderness Campground.
Happy motoring.

Talledega is Oct.3-5 so Suzie and I have to work around that or work it in. My first thought was to enquire if it's even feasible to think about the Outer Banks. I know nothing about that area other than we've always wanted to go there. The three priorities would be prices, prices, and availability. Oh yeah, and prices.

It's been years since I've been there, but the resort activity tends to power down after Labor Day, which would make space more likely available.

I like the outer banks and could go for that location. Another suggestion I have received is Cherokee, NC. There is a huge KOA there and it would be a lot for people to do. For myself, I would try to get in a round of golf.

Rusty, you have the star party in September. Would you want to do something before or after. Would you try to go back home in between?

Danny Z., you have Talladega first of October. Same Question, would you like to do something before or after. Would you try to go home in between?

Donna and I are probably the most flexible. I will try to make the calls to the resorts and get some dates and prices. What do you guys think we could hope for attendance. Think we could get 10 coaches? Let me know what you think and I'll start making calls.

We and our Barth have not been to the East Coast yet, summers months thru October are fairly committed to the ORR (open Road Race) schedule but after that??? We are watching for a Barth get-together that might fit. We might be able to fit something in between races.

We will try to plan it if it fits!

I could do it either way; the Peach State would be convenient to jumping onto I-20 and heading east. Fortunately, I could stay there until time to leave for the GTG. The Outer Banks would be fine by me, or even something further west, like Cherokee (but all those mountain places will start filling up for the autumn leaves that time of year).

It would seem we could expect at least 5 coaches.

The way this year is shaping up we'll probably be hard pressed to make it. [I don't buy Lotto tickets]. We will be in Augusta, Georgia in July for the drag boat races with Deb&Ed. Here's a nice pic of Rusty's fine coach that I forgot to post after the Fl. GTG.

Thanks for the photo, Danny; IIRC, it was around 78°F. Less than two weeks later, I took the photo in my avatar - at 8°F, wind chill -2°F...

That pic was taken within minutes of the pic of you, Suzy, and Deb solving the worlds problems, and you guys don't look to bundled up.
Didn't mean to hijack the thread, just wanted everyone to see the pic.

Time to travel restraint would limit me to Alabama or Georgia, but would like to be at a Barth Rally. I went to Durant, Mississippi just to meet another person that owns a Barth and on my way out of town I spotted another Barth, a class c. Now I gotta go back down there to see that one.

Hi guys,

Depending in time of event, Georgene and I would be interested in attending. North Carolina is a stretch from MA, but it would be a nice trip. I look forward to seeing how this develops.

I have talked to several parks in the Cherokee area that do not have space available for a rally of any size the middle of October. Too many "Leaf Lookers", their terminology. We could do September 19 to 21 without a problem. How does that work for everybody?

Looking for feed back , but we need it fast guys!!!

That would work fine for me - I can putter around for a couple of days, then go early to the Peach State later that week.
