If you are flying into LAX, depending on our schedules, maybe we can meet over coffee at or near the airport. I live close.

Nah, it's too long and too low for our boondocking RV lifestyle. However, if I end up with a bunch of time and the need for a ride in El Lay traffic, I might bike out there just to looky-loo.

But I really do love those early Regency interiors. Maybe because I remember being awe-struck when they first came out.

I also am a little intimidated by the Detroit engine and MCC chassis.

The whole thing is sort of like asking Mrs Lincoln how she liked the play. Smiler

The DD 8.2 could be swapped for a rebuilt or a Cummins 8.3 or Cat 3126/3176.

For the price, there's a lot of bux left for repairs and upgrades, but the lack of support for the chassis is an issue - I've been delighted with my transactions with Spartan.

I hear a lot of stories about the Regency's on the MCC chasis. I have an 82 with a Detroit 8.2 in it and the only trouble I have had has been self induced for lack of maintenance in the begining. I since keep up on that. We live in Georgia and have made 6 trips to Florida and 1 trip to Michigan and then up into Canada and back plus short and vacations and race trips across the state

I just came up to Georgia and then to the races at Dega and am heading back to Forida in the morning.

I can run at 70 mph all day but try to keep it at around 60 to 65. The hills sometimes slow me down but have never stopped me and when I tow its a jeep or a double Jetski trailer.

The engine in is a GM rebuilt with about 20,000 miles. It had about 3000 on it when I bought it.

I work mostly out of town and use the coach as my lodging.

The interior is original and because of the quality would stand up against most coaches on todays market.

It is, 26 years old and for that reason you have to stay on top the maintenance.

If you have never owned one and think you would like to have one, get some help from a qualified technical RV person to inspect the mechanical portion of the coach. The rest is consumable stuff like Refrigerators, A/C HWH etc.
which probably will need replacing at some point in time and if your not sure about it. Replace it so it dosn't spoil a trip.

The only real piece of electonics on our coach is the battery charger and the monitor that tells the tanks and Propane levels. No invertors to leave you without power when dry camping. Turn on the 12 volt lights. switch the frigerator to propane and when you want A/C turn on the Generator or plug it in to shore power.

Just my thoughts on our wonderful 1982 35' Regency.

Let me qualify that a little.

Actually, I love everything about the aluminum MCCs except their length and parts availability. I have not actually measured their ground clearance, but they do seem lower, so that is a likely issue for us, also.

Several of my racing friends at different times have had FMCs, and I have had at least one fast ride around either Willow Springs or Riverside Raceway in one. Absolutely stunning! I am not easily scared or awed, but I was both. I would assume an MCC would have similar capabilities. I have driven only one MCC, and it felt really good on a twisty mountain road. The owner even directed me as to which road to use.

So, my only reservations are from a lifetime maintenance guy who is always trying to prepare for the next breakdown. If they had made a 30-footer with easily available parts, I would own one already.

I never drove an MCC, but looked at a nearby FMC 28' gaso pusher (440 Chrysler). The interior wasn't bragworthy, but believing I was driving a large motorhome was hard.
