Price reduced again. $14,995.00. here at PPL
Wonder at what price this will sell. It seems to be getting awfully cheap even if you had to spend $5,000 more on it. Nick 9207-0160-32RG-2C 93 Regency 32 ft wide body, Gillig Chassis, 300HP Cat, Allison 4 speed Transmission |

It started out being advertised as a 31 ft, but it's tag indicates it is a 30. It's up to 32 feet now, both on RV Trader and PPL's own site.

I received this PM the other day.
The above statement Turns out it was in the list Zim sent around the other day refers to this post. Some more information about the member who gave this info to me. 1) This member is a of our site.2) They have been a member for more then a year. But, less then 5 years. 3) They have posted enough times and all of their posts have been helpful. So, there it is... My suggestion? In your pre-purchase activities as outlined in the Barth CD be sure to also pay particular attention to the possibility of rust in the undercarriage |

Anything like this that's stored outdoors is going to have rust underneath. Are they talking about severly rusted frame members to the point where the metal is compromised? Was this thing parked on a beach in Florida?

Vehicles driven on salted roads in winter and spring get pretty rusty, too. . 84 Regal SE 30 tag PeeThirtySomething |

I only am passing information along that was forwarded to me by a member who... 1) Thought enough of our site to make a financial donation to help pay the bills. 2) Thought enough about our members, or potential members, to forward an insider tip from the bowels of the dealership who is trying to market the coach. 3) From all of their past posts has been very helpful and never full of hyper bowl. Seeing that he/she was told of this information in an insider sort of way, I tend to believe what was sent to me. Everything that you have read is what was sent to me. I left nothing out but identifiable information about who sent this to me. I could have sat on this and done nothing, or I could release what I know and arm our readers with additional info should they decide to look at this coach. I chose the latter, and I think I made the right decision. My suggestion, if you really are interested in this coach, go look at it and... ...In your pre-purchase activities as outlined in the Barth CD be sure to also pay particular attention to the possibility of rust in the undercarriage |

It is also possible that there is a lot of corrosion under the paint, showing itself as blisters. An uninformed person could think they were rust blisters.
Sadly, my Barth suffers from that condition. . 84 Regal SE 30 tag PeeThirtySomething |

On the previous page we had members look at this who reported heavy rusting and the jacks were rusted to the point of not being usable. http://barthmobile.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6241087061/m/...611042513#4611042513
And then I received the "insider Info" from a Supporting Member. At that point, I felt compelled to post it here too. I don't want to turn anyone away from purchasing a Barth. But, I sure wouldn't want someone to stumble onto this Barth from our website without them at least looking at this coach with eyes wide open. |

It would be interesting to know if this coach was ever driven through standing sea water, such as a tropical storm on a barrier island would produce. Suzy drove her old Merc through about 4" of salt walter years ago and within 8 months it was litterally falling apart.

WOW! I had NO idea. That sounds even worse than salty slush on winter roads. . 84 Regal SE 30 tag PeeThirtySomething |

Or sea water was driven through it. There's a lot of cars, boats, etc that were damaged by high water down in the Gulf area a few years back. Who knows.

We bought this RV after Hurricane Ike. We lost our home on the Bolivar Peninsula and were waaay past desperate for a place to live within commuting distance to work that would accept our 4 large dogs.
We have lived in our Barth (christened St. Barth) for nigh on to 4 months now. It's been wonderful to have a place of our own. Many families in this area are still doubled or tripled up from taking in extra family members who lost their homes. St. Barth has problems and needs even more work, but boy does he LOVE to go down the road! We have been cruising your site for a while and proudly consider ourselves Barth fans. David and Donalda, welcome to the site. I have listed you on the Map The Barths Page per your request.
So, do tell us about your coach. Was the reports on this coach accurate or overstated? |

Most of the reports were fairly accurate. It definitely needed work. We have hopes that with time and money it can be repaired.
It came with the owner's manuals so we have a history of St. Barth's earlier years. I've read through earlier posts about our coach and can answer some of the questions people were asking a year ago. The previous owner had a combination washer/dryer installed in the cedar closet. He took the W/D with him in his new 5th wheel. The flooring is laminate in most of the coach, obviously recently added. The interior is teal and cream, worn but probably still original. The walls have been painted and were originally teal. It has a 190 Cummins diesel engine, Allison transmission and Kohler propane generator. The undercarriage does have rust and the automatic levelers are inoperable. Virtually everything leaked. The furnace and dash AC/heating do not work. All that information was disclosed when we expressed interest in the coach. We chose the Barth because it seemed comfortable, solidly made and had been reduced to a price we could manage with cash. Since we have been living here, I've marveled at how much thought and planning obviously went into this coach. The lighting is great, cabinets solid and the storage has been well designed. We have taken several small trips. We are new to RVing but really appreciate the options St. Barth has brought us. And we're learning. So, I'd say that like most Barth's, it's been down, but it's not out! |
