Captain Doom |
The fall movie blockbuster is without a doubt, Avatar. Although somewhat formulaic, the storyline is neverthless enaging and imaginative, and well-paced. The graphics are absolutely stunning.
My sister and B-in-L had seen it, and took me to see it in MO - there were 7 people, including us, in the theater. However, the film has grossed over $1,000,000,000 worldwide. In either case the idea is quite staggering. - Arthur C. Clarke |

Helen and I saw AVATAR while in Nsahville. Opry Mills 20 had an Imax 3-D presentation, which we decided on. The storyline was a predictable Good vs Evil, Boy gets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back, BUT.........as Rusty stated, The CG are stunning! The ONLY problem I had was a depth-of-field/focus issue. The only part of the scenes in total focus were center of DOF. It has been a long time since I have seen 3-D and have NEVER experienced Imax 3-D so it may be that DOF thing is inherent in 3-D. We would see it again!
