My Barth 3 ring binder is in sad shape and I'd like to replace it. Does anyone have a binder in good shape that they would like to sell? I'm referring to the large binder that holds the owners manuals for everything from the Gen Set to toilet, A/C, furnaces, etc.

Thanks,

Bill, Sharron, Hayley and Bridgett

I know office supply stores such as "Staples" and
"Office Depot" sell various size binders and even very large ones. hope this helps.

I think what Bill is really after is the original Barth binder. The one with the Barth logo on.

That's correct, I'm looking for an original Barth binder. I have a couple of large binders at home but it would be nice to have a Barth binder to go with my Gillig binder. the cover of my Barth binder separated and someone taped it on with duct tape. They must have used 50MPH duct tape since it failed also. Everyone knows that 200MPH duct tape would have been the correct application. Big Grin

Perhaps a big Barth logo printed on 8.5 X 11 grey stock and slipped under the clear vinyl cover of a nice new binder will not look too shabby.

I checked with a company that Bill NY told me about. Their quote was $455 for 30 binders that would look like the original. I would have to find 29 other members that would be willing to buy one for $15.17 plus shipping before I would do it and I doubt there are that many interested.

I might check out Kinko's to do something similar to what you are suggesting. There are binders available at any office suppply store that would look great for a fraction of having them custom made.

If anyone is interested in what I find, let me know in this thread.

IIRC the logo is black or dark grey, so if you have a laser printer and almost any kind of graphics program, you can always roll your own. I suppose it would be convenient to have access to a scanner and copy the original binder cover artwork. There may be a Barth nut here that has a clean copy of the art and a flatbed scanner and can post the file, or send you a copy ?

I'm interested in how it plays out. My original is still okay, but I've added so much "stuff" e.g. Dave's Barth CD I need another. Thanks in advance.

That was just a company I found doing a Google Search, I've never used them before.

Count me in for one. But, "I doubt you'll find an additional 27 members who wants one too" Bill said, in a fashion, meant to bait the other members of the forum. Big Grin

Keep me in mind when you walk into the next place. I believe you'll get a better job if you had the original on hand when you walk into a copy or office supply store.

If this doesn't work out, just buy any binder with a clear plastic cover and slip your own artwork in. You still might find someone who will read this and call you up one day.

Wahoo! We're not even into 2008 and there are already two people interested counting me. I'm willing to buy two leaving only 27 more to sign up.

What would really be cool is to have some made up with a Regency, some with a Breakaway, Regal, Euro etc. I'm not sure I want to see the estimate for that although it might amount to nothing more than their $65 fee for additional images. If correct, that would make the total $21.66 ea. plus shipping and tax. This might be pushing it too far but it would be pretty slick.
