I have made a resolution that if I do anything to the Barth that may be helpful, I will do my best to document and offer the results on this forum. The first of these is addition of a low beam head light relay to the Breakaway, I have posted the procedure with pictures on my website, it is in an DOC format and quite large, I haven't been able to make my DOC to PDF converter work after the last crash so bare with me until I get it sorted out.

I would like to thank Rod DeGarlais for pointing me in the right direction. The addtion of a relay makes a HUGE difference in the available light with the low beams on, It should also ease the wear and tear on the light switch and steering column switch because the heavy current for the headlights in low beam are now thru a relay instead of thru the switches. (high beam already has a relay)

BTW, those of us with GM electricals may not need this - the dimmer switch on my Breakaway is manually operated by a rod from the stalk to the relay on the steering column.

I did swap out the old lights for Sylvania Silver Star (which was an adventure - 3 of the 4 were returned - one was used, one had a chip in the glass, and the third had the terminal lugs soldered out-of-line). But they make a huge difference, even if they aren't Hellas.
