My CB does not function, has not since I got Nose. I was wondering how many folks still use them? I kinda think it needs to replaced just for safety sake, but have cell phones replaced that need? Just curious.

Next the horn has not worked either, what's best replace it with a standard honker or do the big boy stuff with an air or fake air horn???

I have one in the coach but it rarely gets used. I don't hear much going on when I listen to it. Once in a while in a traffic jam you might get a report on the location of a problem but not reliably.

If you want a CB I think I still have a few working ones laying around. Don't spend any money on it!

As for the horn, get one of those bumpers stickers:

I have 3 I'm pretty sure. One is from the very first days when you were supposed to have a license, one newer, probably early '80s and one that was on my boat when we bought it. That one has all the bells and whistles including the antenna performance checker. Take your pick but I'm not getting close to a post office for the foreseeable future.

I quit using the CB a bunch of years ago ....... the air was so full of profanity and useless chatter that you couldn't get a break if your life depended on it.

Seems I have my answer on the CB radio. Past its prime and outlived its usefulness!!! Thanks all for the input!!!!

Gonna buy a loud regular snail type horn, no air pumps or plumbing to install. Steve I only have a partial middle finger on my left hand so it is not as effective. Hee Hee!!

Duane hold off on buying the horn a couple of days. I have to check a couple spots. I used to have a couple? Why I have no idea? They may have gone on one of the last scrap loads of iron. Just like a number of us. Trying to lighten the load of highly valuable parts and pieces (aka crap). One mans trash is another mans treasure? I’m out everyday. Folks have to have stuff to protect their toilet paper!

12 degrees this morning. Noon and only 25 degrees. Off this weekend and it supposed to be warmer. I’ll look then.

I got 7 inches of snow. Too cold to melt. Supposed to warm up going ahead so it will melt.

With things as they are currently I am waiting to talk to Maiden Rock. Have not heard from Kenny or Kazy. They are our point contact. I know with cheaper fuel some are chomping at the bit. We don’t want to be responsible for jeopardizing anyone’s health/life. I bought pork butts in prep. I am ready for a blast of friend energy to revive my soul.

I like to have a good working CB in the coach while traveling . We didn't use it too often but it does come in handy when traveling with a group . Also handy to obtain traffic info and road conditions from the Big Rigs .

We run HF and 2meter VHF ham radios while traveling .
Probably will get another 880 for our next coach.
When Jeeping with friends , we use the CB a lot .
The Jeep has a really nice Uniden Bearcat 880.
